Description

The “Sıfır Atık” (Zero Waste) initiative is a comprehensive waste management approach focused on waste prevention, efficient resource utilization, waste reduction, source separation of waste, and the economic value of recycling. Its primary objectives are to prevent waste, promote responsible resource use, reduce waste generation, and contribute to the economy through recycling efforts. The initiative involves various stakeholders, including government authorities, organizations, and communities, and it has specific timelines for implementation both at the national and regional levels, aiming for widespread adoption of zero waste practices by 2023 in Turkey. The project envisions the widespread implementation of zero waste practices throughout Turkey by the year 2023. At the regional level, the goal is to complete the implementation by 2021.

Scope

The scope of the “Sıfır Atık” (Zero Waste) initiative encompasses waste prevention, more efficient use of resources, reduction of waste generation, the establishment of an effective waste collection system, and recycling of waste. It is an approach aimed at preventing waste and promoting sustainable practices.   Objectives:
